Lernergebnisse: | Learning Outcomes: The students • Know the basics and terms in Packaging Logistics, understand the complex interactions between packaging system and logistical processes and with this - understand the differences between product packaging and pallet/container/load carrier’s organization; • Understand the various functions which a packaging system needs to fulfil in the Supply Chain and know how to incorporate these functional requirements in the packaging design process; • Know the basics of cargo securing and distinguish between the stress types related to the different means of transport, • Familiarize with the most common stresses for packaging in the supply chain: learn to dimension and design cushioning under consideration of shock and vibration stress as well as calculate the necessary amount of desiccant for storage and transport • Know the standards, legal requirements and understand the global development trends in Packaging and Logistics, • Can solve simple optimization problems and are able to select software for solving cargo space optimization problems independently.
